Manny Pacquiao: “Half Of My Income Will Go To The Poor”

The famous boxing icon and senator showed his desire to continue his charity work by serving the people.

Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao and now a senator of the Philippine government, said that he donated about $200 million on projects that will help the poor.

“Every income I receive in boxing, almost half of it goes to the less fortunate,” he said.

“After each fight, half of my income goes to the poor. But I don’t like to announce it,” Pacquiao added.

As per Forbes information, Pacquiao’s income from his boxing career and endorsements is approximately $500 million.



He has been establishing numerous projects in the Philippines, one of which is building 1,500 homes on the Mindanao island. He also bought a fleet of new boats for the fishermen in a coastal community.

Pacquiao stated that he wants to keep fighting so can continue his charity work that has helped many Filipinos already all throughout his 21-year boxing career.





In May, he was elected as a senator of the Philippines wherein he sits on 15 committees. This work of his means that he has only been training part-time for his upcoming fight with Jessie Vargas.

“I enjoy politics because I do not have a hidden agenda. I serve honestly,” Pacquiao said.

“That’s a good thing for me because I’m not ashamed to tell the truth. I’m not ashamed to rebuke someone if they are doing wrong. Government is for serving the people, not for serving oneself,” he added.
